Welcome to the Vegfest website!
The Finnish Vegan Society will arrange Finland's first-ever Vegfest from 15th to 17th of August 2008 at the Central Marketplace (Keskustori) in Tampere.
Similar happenings have been arranged in other countries also, for example in Sweden by the name Vegomässan. The purpose of Vegfest is to increase the conspicuousness of vegetarianism and veganism, to increase people's knowledge of the possibilities offered by vegetarianism and to diminish the common prejudices concerning plant-based diets.

In the Keskustori event tent there will be e.g. musical performers, workshops and informational statements and also panel discussions, the themes of which will include sports, the environment and health issues. The surrounding area will have presentators from different organizations and companies, and food vendors. Naturally all of these will present animal-friendly products or methods. The Niagara cinema will show movies concerning vegetarianism, and a support gig will be held on friday in Vastavirta club.
